Hungry For God

Though I am poor, You say I am rich...
Though I am dirty, You say I am lovely.

Though I am dark and comely, You say I am beautiful...
Though I am worn and tattered, You would give anything for me.

There is something in my weakness that draws You to me.
How can it be that this is what has overwhelmed You and ravished Your heart?

Very interesting. Being extremely unartistic, I don't quit get it. What does it say to you?

Inspired by the allegory in Song of Solomon...the love story between God and His people. I will never understand this side of heaven how and why He loves me so...despite all that I am and have done, how He longed for me even while I was in the midst of darkness...but it is the only truth that continues to draw me close to Him, and give me strength.

"You have ravished my heart and given me courage, my sister, my bride; you have ravished my heart and given me courage with one look from your eyes." SOS 4:9

Being a father and having children, I understand the love. We love them even though they have faults. We love them when they are openly rebellious. We love them because they are of us. Just as we are of God.

The Song of Solomon has been quoted to me three times in the last week from completely dislocated sources. Interesting.
